least three quarters of first dates do not continue to a second date.
It is not uncommon for a woman to get overly excited for a first date or any date for that matter, but there are so many reasons why women should NOT get excited. First dates are never a guarantee of two people starting a relationship. In fact, it is usually the opposite, because both of you are looking for different clues as to whether or not a second date is possible.
Many women believe that they need to spend hours getting ready for their first date, but this is further from the truth
The Shocking Statistic….
I bet that you didn’t know that at least three quarters of first dates do not continue to a second date. Just because two people have sent emails and text messages to each other for a few days and had a phone call or two does not mean that the first date will go well.
This is why I always recommend that a first date is only a couple of hours long for drinks or lunch (no dinner or weekend dates if you can help it!)
Before The First Date
Many women believe that they need to spend hours getting ready for their first date, but this is further from the truth. Women should only spend the same amount of time that they do on a normal day. There is no need to spend an hour curling your hair if you normally do not curl your hair. If you do not normally wear makeup then you shouldn’t wear it for your date either.
Women should always look the same as they always do or they will make the mistake of possibly leading a guy on and he may expect that look all of the time.
On The First Date
During the first date, women need to try to contain their excitement. This may be difficult if you haven’t been out on a date in a long time or if you get a really good feeling after a few conversations with a guy.
However, this excitement can lead to unrealistic dreams and you may think that you like a guy when in reality all you like is the fact that you are finally out on a date.
Besides, if you have low expectations you will be pleasantly surprised when the date actually goes well. Plus, when the date is really bad, you won’t be as disappointed and ready to give up.
- DO NOT spend a lot of time getting ready
- Wear everyday clothing and shoes
- Agree to a short date, so that you DO NOT waste your time if the date is extremely bad
- DO NOT worry if you have a dozen terrible dates as long as they are short! The right person will show up sooner than later.
No guy will ever be worth a lot of attention until things are really serious and the real relationship begins. Until then, be yourself, have fun and enjoy the dating scene as much as possible!
